Taking classes is a great way to keep your creative momentum going; to learn and polish new skills, set aside a dedicated time for art, and to connect with like-minded people in a supportive environment.

I am happy to offer classes and workshops in varying lengths that can accommodate your challenging schedules. You can sign up for one-day intensives, two-day workshops, ten-week classes, and ten-day trips to Europe!

Classes range from general painting studios encompassing all painting mediums; to specific techniques and theories (Travel Sketch; Gouache; Colored Pencil; Color in the Landscape). Summer time is always full of Landscape Workshops and Color! I hope you will find a class and time that works for you. Join me in the new Evanston Art Center, at the classical sky-lighted studio of the North Shore Art League, in my spacious Art Endeavors Studio; outside in our local landscapes, or in Door County at the The Clearing Folk School and Peninsula Art School.

Capturing the Colors of Summer

Bring color into your landscape painting this summer. Discover how painters think about composition and color in nature. A brief review of color and light will help you represent the landscape.

You will create small paintings in the medium of your choice, such as gouache, acrylic, and oil. Color drawing materials including pastel and colored pencils also welcome.

Mastering the use of color is one of the most important tools in creating successful; dynamic paintings. A greater understanding of color usage will lead you more quickly and efficiently to the solutions you want!

Join visiting artist, Nina Weiss as she leads you through the process of becoming more confident in the use of color through a mixture of class discussion, observation, exercises and direct application.

We will paint outside (weather permitting) in the beautiful landscapes surrounding the Art Center on days 2 & 3!
