Color in the Summer Landscape: 4-Day Workshop

  • Peninsula School of Art 3900 Co Rd F Fish Creek WI 54212 United States (map)

Bring some color into your landscape painting this summer! Work in the studio from photographic references. Learn how painters from the Impressionist, Expressionist, and Fauve movements viewed color in nature. Break through the limitations of local color in representing the landscape.

Nina presents a brief review of light and color theory designed to help you utilize techniques such as layering, optical mixture, broken brushstroke, and glazing. She explains how ideas about composition and gesture can help you learn to best compose your landscapes. Nina provides a library of landscape imagery in addition to your own references. Painters in oil, acrylic, or gouache mediums are welcome!
