Color in the Winter Landscape

  • Peninsula School of Art 3900 County Road F Fish Creek, WI 54212 (map)

Enjoy a blast of color this winter in the cozy studios of PAS.    In this three-day class, students will explore painting techniques that reveal color in the Winter Landscape.  Under-painting, glazing, broken-brushstroke, and a review of color theory will help guide the student to rich and vibrant landscapes.  Composition, gesture, and other practices crucial to landscape painting will be reviewed.  We’ll look at how artists such as the Impressionist; Expressionists; and others thought about colors.  Students are welcome to work in the wet or dry medium of their choice; including oil, gouache, acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil; and pastel.
